“Crazy Ants” aren't originally from North America, but these ants have created a supercolony in the Southern US. The ants can harm ecosystems, crops, and even short-circuit electronics in homes. Ryan Reihart has been researching how to combat this invasive species and the University of Dayton Ph.D. candidate found out that calcium may be the key.
