Managing Stocks in Crisis (0:00:00) As we continue our journey through the chaotic ride that is 2020, the pandemic continues to change every facet of our lives, including how we invest in stocks. A few weeks ago, the DOW dropped to a near record low. But it soared 2,100 points just last week. With all the up and down, many stockholders are left scratching their heads wondering what this means for them. For both those experienced in stock and those who can’t tell AMEX from NASDAQ, our current situation has brought some of the same questions to all of our minds: how does a major pandemic affect the stock market? And what should we expect to be doing during a crisis like this? Today we’re talking with Ken Little, finance and healthcare copywriter, about the stock market during a pandemic and how we should be reacting to it. At-Home Workouts (0:15:30) Your kids have been running around the house for the past couple weeks, making you crazy. You’ve tried board games, books, and movies. You love your kids, but it’s hard to keep up with all of their energy. Well, there’s a perfect solution. Working out with your kids helps you stay fit while helping channel your children’s energy and keeping them active while you’re stuck in your house. Here to talk about different workouts you can do with your kids, is Lance Pekus, American Ninja Warrior, cowboy, and father of two. Staying Sane with your Family (0:31:09) You’ve done every puzzle in your house. You’ve gone on more walks than ever before in your life. You’ve gotten your kids to help you clean every room in the house. Now what? Obviously, our family are the most important people in our life, but that can be hard to remember when we feel trapped with them in our homes. So, what can we do to keep the peace and not go crazy ourselves? To help us keep things sane and happy at home is friend of the show, Carrie Ann Rhodes, who –like with so many other situations right now –is at home and joining us by phone. Board Games (0:50:34) Right now, many of us are cooped up inside our homes (some might say our COVID-19 cells) with so much time on our hands that we don’t even know what to do with it. TV, Netflix, and video games are the immediate go-to's for lots of us trying to pass the time. But this is also a great time to really unplug, connect with and enjoy our time with our families. I know one of my favorite ways to unplug and spend time as a family is to have a game night. So, what are some great games we can play together? Here to give us their list of favorite board games are board game experts Ernest and Jean Borne. Morning Practices for Success (1:09:19) With all the stress surrounding COVID-19, a lot of us are having a hard time maintaining or even building a healthy daily schedule. Mornings can be especially hard when you’ll be home all day anyway. A lot of us end up working in our pajamas all day. During this pandemic, how can we set up our mornings so that we’ll be successful throughout the rest of the day? Dawn Hafner is an author and specialist on mindfulness and meditation. She’s also worked from home herself for years. We thought she’d be the perfect person to invite on the show to help us build our own morning routines for success in the face of COVID-19. Neighborhood Etiquette (1:25:21) Have you ever had a really good neighbor? Whether you have them now or you did in the past, there’s no doubt that living by kind and polite people makes coming home even more enjoyable. And by being considerate neighbors ourselves, we can help create peaceful and happy communities. Here to tell us how we can be good neighbors is Elaine Swann. Elaine is a lifestyle and etiquette expert.
