In 1858, the French Narcisse Pelletier was only fourteen years old when his crewmates left him on a beach in Australia. The Uutaalnganu Aboriginals took him in and he assimilated quickly. Seventeen years later, he was forced to return home to France, experiencing a surprising culture shock.
