Medical schools want applicants from diverse backgrounds—in terms of race and ethnicity, yes, but also in terms of life experience and interests. But the competitive process of getting into medical school doesn’t favor students who’ve taken a less traditional path. Northeastern University student Khailah Nichole-Robin Griffin is a perfect example of following a non-traditional path.
