In a little under two months, global leaders will meet in Glasgow, Scotland for the United Nations Climate Change Conference to assess the international commitment to reduce carbon emissions. The stakes for this summit are particularly high because of the latest report from the UN’s panel of climate change scientists, which concluded that carbon emissions from human activity have already done irreversible damage. But the scientists also say it’s not yet too late to head off the worst-case scenarios. Rutgers University climate scientist Bob Kopp is one of the lead authors on the latest UN climate report.
