Happy Chinese New Year! That’s right, today, the Apple Seed crew is celebrating the New Year on the Lunar Calendar, which falls around late January or early February on the Gregorian calendar. For those who might be unfamiliar, a majority of the Western hemisphere uses the Gregorian calendar, a calendar which bases its measurement of the year on the sun’s position in the sky. Many people in the Eastern hemisphere uses the Lunar calendar, which bases its measurements of the year on the moon’s position in thesky. We may have already celebrated our New Year on this side of the globe, but many people on the other side of the world are taking the day to celebrate a lunar New Year in beautiful traditional ways.
