Twenty-three-year-old violinist William Hagen is the third prize winner of the 2015 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition (the highest ranking American since 1980). During the summer of 2016, William makes his recital debut at the Colmar Festival (France) and returns to the Utah Symphony (Deer Valley Music Festival) and the Aspen Music Festival where he performs both as chamber musician and soloist with the Aspen Philharmonic conducted by Ludovic Morlot. Abroad, he has performed with the Brussels Philharmonic, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the ORF Radio-Sinfonieorchester and with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liege in a tour of Belgium. He has also performed in Japan with the Yokohama Sinfonietta and the Sendai Philharmonic.  Tonight in-between violin selections (all performed from memory!) he visits with host Steven Kapp Perry about everything from baseball, trills, and National Geographic photography!
