Hip-Hop Ambassador

Did you know the US State Department has an official hip-hop ambassador? The US actually has representatives from many different music genres—including jazz, gospel, bluegrass, and more. They perform and conduct workshops around the world as a part of their diplomacy efforts. Rapper and writer Toni Blackman was America’s first hip-hop ambassador. (Originally aired September 8th, 2020)
