At what age were you most happy in your life? Your childhood? Or maybe in your 20s? Or perhaps it’s whatever stage you’re in right now? Psychologist Clare Mehta’s research suggests the mid-30s are an especially good time for Americans. Mehta’s Lifespan Lab at Emmanuel College in Boston is calling for a more focused study of people between the ages of 30 and 45. She calls this “Established Adulthood,” and she says it's both a very stressful and very satisfying stage for many people. (Segment produced by Abby Haralson)
