Narcisse Pelletier was only fourteen years old when his French crewmates left him on a beach in Australia. The Uutaalnganu Aboriginals took him in and renamed him "Amglo." He assimilated quickly and learned the language, taking part in hunts, initiation rituals, and battles with other clans. Seventeen years later, he was forced to return home to France, where he once again experienced culture shock. Guest: Robert Macklin, biographer, historian, and author of "Castaway: The Extraordinary Survival Story of Narcisse Pelletier, a Young French Cabin Boy Shipwrecked on Cape York in 1858"
