Between gift shopping and food prep and planning for the month, it can be easy to lose track of why we’re even celebrating during the holiday season. One of the greatest things about the holidays we celebrate is that it helps us to remember the most important things in our lives: our family, our faith, even our heritage. Founded by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966, Kwanzaa is a 7 day African American festival that celebrates culture, family and community from December 26 to January 1. Joining us is Jessica “Culture Queen” Hebron, an award-winning author and speaker, to give us the history of Kwanzaa and how it’s relevant to us.
