While studies are still constantly being done, we’re realizing the powerful effects blue-light has on our eyes, brains, and possibly even our skin. Because of this, there has been a surge of products on the market to combat it. Blue-light glasses, screen protectors with anti-blue-light tech, and even sunscreens that say they protect against blue light. Now, almost all smart phones on the market have a special “night mode” to protect us from too much blue-light exposure before bed. But does it work as well as it says it does?
Today we are talking with Chad Jensen, a psychology professor here at BYU. He recently conducted a study along with researchers from the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to see if using the “night mode” setting on phones improves sleep quality.
