They say a dog is a man’s best friend. And for thousands of military veterans, nothing is truer than that. At least 20 veterans who served after the 9/11 attacks commit suicide daily. To combat veteran suicide and the traumatic impact of PTSD, an organization called K9s for Warriors has been pairing veterans with rescued shelter dogs. These dogs are then trained to be service dogs for their human counterparts. Joining us today is Greg Wells, the Manager of Programs at K9s for Warriors. He joins us to talk about how these service dogs are helping veterans.
