Animals make a big part of many people’s lives. Between pets, farm animals, food, they’re everywhere. Maybe that’s why we like stories about them. Whether they’re real stories about old pets or fantastic ones about animals that talk, everyone has at least one story about an animal. Many myths, especially creation myths, are based on the actions of animals. We have some of these myths and stories today from a variety of tellers, Sarah Malone, Eshu Bumpus, Joan Stockbridge, and more. On today’s episode, enjoy the following: “Peace Song” by Sarah Malone from Holding up the Sky: Peace Tales for Kids (8:13) “Skoll and Hati, the Swallowers” by Susan Strauss from Wolf Stories (2:53) Daily Mix: The Emperor’s New Groove by Cole Wissinger (6:44) “Lion in Love” by Eshu Bumpus from Lion in Love (9:22) “Amaterasu” by Joan Stockbridge (14:25) “Elk” by Laura Simms from Four Legged Tales: Animal Stories from Here and Away (2:20) Radio Family Journal: "Snake in the Grass" (5:00)
