Ocean Noise

Although a lot of people find the sounds of the ocean relaxing, it’s an increasingly noisy place for marine creatures. Sound travels much farther in water than through air. Human activities are making so much noise that marine life is feeling the consequences. University of California, Santa Cruz biologist Daniel Costa recently co-wrote a call to reduce ocean noise pollution.
