There are only somewhere around 7,000 cheetahs left in the wild. Farmers are shooting them—rich foreigners are buying them as pets. Governments in the horn of Africa are cracking down on illegal activity like this, but cheetahs may have the cards stacked against them. Both social media and climate change are making things worse. Laurie Marker, a conservation scientist and Executive Director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, discusses why. (Segment produced by James Hoopes)
