Star Wars 501st Legion

As a kid, you might have dreamed about being a Jedi –but if you were a really big Star Wars fan, you might have dreamed about being a Stormtrooper, a Clone, or even a Jawa. Now, you think you’ve outgrown it, but once you hear about this organization, I bet that you’re going to take out those old VHS tapes and take a look at those costumes in a whole different way. The 501st Legion is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that’s dedicated to bringing beloved Star Wars characters to life. That’s right –that means building and wearing those costumes for fans to enjoy. But the members of the 501st aren’t the only ones who enjoy them because this 10,000 member organization is committed to being a “force” for good in their community in some really creative ways. Here to tell us all about it is Tiffany Tyler, a member of the 501stLegion’s Alpine Garrison, the local chapter for Utah, where we broadcast from.
