Little Ice Age

Guest: Sam White, Associate Professor of Environmental History at the Ohio State University and author of "A Cold Welcome: The Little Ice Age and Europe’s Encounter with North America" England, France, and Spain were all trying to colonize North America in the 1600s, one of the worst possible centuries to try such a venture. The Earth was experiencing dramatic climate change, known now as the Little Ice Age, and producing some of the most unpredictable weather the Europeans had ever known.
