It’s quite common for US immigrants to “Americanize” their names so it's easier for English speakers to pronounce. But names are integral to identity and demonstrate family history, culture, and religion. Candour inclusion strategist Ruchika Tulshyan says people shouldn't have to change their name and that everyone needs to work on pronouncing names correctly.
