Guest: Reverend Jeffrey Brown The Reverend Jeffrey Brown says he’s learned some of his most important life lessons from drug dealers, gang members and prostitutes while standing on street corners in rough Boston neighborhoods after midnight. The Reverend has been part of an effort since the 1990s to reduce crime in urban areas, including inner-city Boston. For eight years in the mid-nineties, it contributed to such a huge drop in youth violence, it’s been dubbed “The Boston Miracle.” Today, the effort has been retooled for new challenges in the nation’s urban centers. “Season of Peace” is what Brown and his colleagues are calling the program.
