This hour features our open mic night of sorts! In-studio we have local singer/songwriters: Alyssa Pyper and Emily Brown; along with Jenessa Smith and Julianne Brough of the duo Goldmyth. Alyssa Pyper was classically trained as a violinist. But things changed when she got a loop pedal and started playing open mic nights. In 2014 she released a short album titled "Night Wings" recorded at Studio Studio Dada in Provo, Utah; and she's working on a new set of songs that she'll record soon. Tonight on vocals, and violin w/loop pedal she performs her songs: Sapling/Trusting Moonlight, Garden of Eve/Grow In Me, and Roses/Collars of Stone. Emily Brown is a self identified 'anti-folk singer' (don't worry Steven Kapp Perry will ask her exactly what that means during the show. So you'll get answers!) that's active in Provo's cultural and artistic scene. She's been known to organize music sampler nights featuring 14 artists or more and she organized a performance of Tom Waits' "Alice" in its entirety! She released her first album "This Goes With Us" in 2011 and followed it up a year later with "Green Things." She has two more albums in the works "Emily Frown" and "Bee Eater." Tonight singing from the piano she performs: Nocturne, Don't Call Me Sweetheart, and Summer Song. Jenessa Smith and Julianne Brough are the duo Goldmyth. Jennessa plays harp with loop pedal and sings. Julianne plays piano and sings too. Their debut album "Has to be Better" drops soon and they'll play the title track to start their set followed by: Holy Rope, and Ghost in Mind.
