Anne McNamara earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Jazz Studies minor from James Madison University, her Masters of Trumpet Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her Doctorate in trumpet performance from the University of Maryland. She is the primary trumpet teacher at the University of Utah and the director of the University Trumpet Ensemble, and teaches several courses including High Brass Studies, Survey of Jazz, and Women in Music.
