Who were your closest playmates growing up? For many of us, that was our siblings -or perhaps you had friends so close that they felt like your siblings. Brothers and sisters can be anything from our greatest annoyances to our most loyal partners in crimebut through it all, we love them dearly. In today’s episode, we hope to share some of that sibling culture with stories from Dolores Hydock, Willy Claflin, and Danielle Bellonne about the people that have loved and influenced us, for better or for worse, as we grew up.  On today’s episode, enjoy the following: Radio Family Journal: Babysitters and Siblings  Daily Mix: Jeff Simpson discusses “Hunt For the Wilderpeople" Story Spotlight: “Ka-ulu, The Strong” by Willy Claflin on The Uglified Duckling (8:31) "Brothers Road" by Sam Payne (3:51) Storytime: “The Chenoo” by Joseph Bruchac on When The Chenoo Howls Volume 1 (9:18) “Merisier, Stronger Than Elephants” by Danielle Bellonne on Moon-Eyed Sister (14:15) Storyteller Spotlight: Willy Claflin A headliner and master of ceremonies at the National Storytelling Festival, Willy is a favorite at festivals throughout the U.S. He offers stories for families as well as adults, often weaving music into his performances.
