The American education system has only experienced one major change in its educational philosophy since its birth in the 17thcentury... For nearly two centuries education was focused on educating wealthy elites on religion and social statues. The Industrial Revolution of the 19thcentury caused a shock that shifted our paradigm away from religion and onto to common, state-sponsored curriculum made available to the masses.
