If “all good things come to those who wait,” why can waiting be so hard sometimes? From patience-taxing to anticipation-inducing, waiting can seem like either a blessing or a curse. Today on the Apple Seed, we have a lineup of stories from Bill Harley, Antonio Rocha, Michael Harrell, Norah Dooley, Charlotte Blake-Alston, Michael Arganoff, and Mitch Capel, all teaching us of the ups and downs of waiting. As the years pass, a once thriving town becomes more and more desolate, though still lives strong in his memory. “Aesop’s Racing Rabbit” by Norah Dooley (6:48) Noral Dooley shares the familiar tale of The Tortoise and the Hare - a patient tortoise and an eager rabbit race against each other, only to learn together an important principle. “Black Mamba” by Charlotte Blake-Alston (10:43) Charlotte Blake-Alston shares a folktale from Zimbabwe about a young man who is miraculously healed by a mystical black python – the same python he chose to spare years prior. “I Can Fly” by Mitch Capel (7:54) As a young bird learns to fly, he must juggle advice from his parents and siblings to be successful. "Radio Family Journal: Smoking Money" (5:37) Sam shares a story about saving money as a kid and the advice his grandpa gives him in the form of stories.
