Guest: Holly Buck, Assistant Professor of Environment and Sustainability, University of Buffalo Some of the world’s biggest oil companies—including Shell and BP—recently announced plans to capture the emissions coming out of two big industrial centers in the UK and pump that CO2 into the sea floor off the coast of England. Bizarre as that might sound, the idea of capturing carbon dioxide before it gets into the atmosphere, and locking it away somewhere, is an active area of research, but hasn’t been done successfully on a large scale yet.
