Haiti has had a very difficult year. In July, Haiti’s president was assassinated, deepening a government crisis. A major earthquake then struck southwestern Haiti and was shortly followed by tropical storm Grace, which brought flooding and mudslides to the same area. This has all happened amid a continuing COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing gang violence in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince. What can countries like the US do to help Haiti out of its humanitarian and political crises? The Haitian ambassador to the US Bocchit Edmond discusses.
