World of Design (0:00:00) What do you know about design? It’s a pretty complicated field that involves a knowledge of artistic and psychological methods, aesthetic, and even computer programming in graphics. The design field is rapidly growing and changing as technology grows and many people choose to work from home. So why is design such an important and lucrative field? We are joined by Jonathan Fong, a designer who works on interiors, florals, crafts, weddings, events and graphics. Selling a Home (0:13:27) Selling your house can be hard. It’s where your child took its first steps and where you established your family. It might feel like you are letting go of all those memories your family made in that space, but really selling your house just means you’re moving on to new and better things. Andrew Finney, a real estate agent in Las Vegas, joins us to talk about how to deal with these emotions when it comes time to sell your house. Handling ADHD (0:31:47) In the United States, less than 20% of adults and 40% of youth with ADHD seek the help they need. Many of these people spend life not daring to ask questions and are often filled with shame and embarrassment. Therapist LeNae Valentine and certified ADHD coach Cory Henderson join us to discuss how to better understand ADHD and how to find the right help for it. Be a Good Neighbor (0:50:35) Are you very close with your neighbors? Sometimes it seems that in this day and age it’s easy to let meeting your neighbors slide to the backburner. We save all of our social relationships for ones we’ve already established, or for online. So the question is—what are we missing out on? Why is it important to meet your neighbors? Here to talk to us a little bit about why we should be meeting our neighbors, we’ve got Tatyana Mamut head of the Nextdoor app’s design and insights team, and Julianne Holt-Lunstad, professor of psychology who focuses on social relationships. The Startup Whisperer (1:07:20) It’s a dream that’s been in the back of your mind for years, but your stable job and feeding your family seem to get in the way of starting your own business. But what if you were able to make your dream a reality? Dr. Okasana Malysheva and Joe Merrill are the co-founders of Sputnik ATX and their mission is to fund and mentor other entrepreneurs who might never have access to the capital they need to get their companies off the ground otherwise. Holiday Health and Readiness (1:26:01) The holidays are centered around relaxing, celebrating, and sharing delicious food with your family and friends. With the holiday season approaching quickly, it can be easy to overindulge on some of our favorite treats. We often forget that the delicious food that comes with these special months can take a toll on our health, so it’s important to know how to have a balance during this time of year. Dr. Anna Cabeca is a physician and women’s health expert. She tells us the healthiest way to navigate through these exciting months.
