Every month, here in America, there are millions of women and girls who can’t afford the supplies they need to manage their periods. Several years ago, Lynette Medley started delivering pads and tampons discreetly to people in Philadelphia experiencing what’s known as “period poverty.” Now Medley and her daughter have opened what’s believed to be the first crowdfunded menstrual hub in the United States, where women and girls can come to get supplies, support, and education.
