For a kid growing up comfortably in a city lacking diversity, race just might not be an issue on the radar. Today, when explicit racism pops up on social media and in the news so often, how do wealthy white kids learn about race? Clark, M.D., Professor of Obstetrics and Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital America is one of the most dangerous places in the developed world for a woman to give birth, and the problem has been getting worse in the last 20 years. On average, 2 or 3 women die in childbirth every day in America. More than 100 others come close. They may survive, but will often have lasting injuries. The CDC says most of these deaths and injuries are preventable. What is going wrong?
