The Lee Trio is an award-winning piano trio made up of three virtuosic performers, educators, and sisters from San Francisco. While in town to perform as part of the Chamber Music Society of Salt Lake's concert series, these talented women share with us Beethoven and Schumann trios from their upcoming recording series, as well as a piece commisioned especially for them.  Between them they are graduates of the Curtis Institute, the Juilliard School, Yale and Harvard, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hannover, and they have excelled in competitions and concerts throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Educating the next generation of musicians is intergral to the Trio's misson, and in addition to giving master classes at schools and universities worldwide they provide outreach and concerts in areas where the arts have little or no exposure.  They talk about this and more with host Steven Kapp Perry in-between beauitful classical selections.  The Lee Trio is:  Lisa Lee: Violin  Angela Lee: Cello  Melinda Lee Masur: Piano  Repertoire: HAYDN Piano Trio in C Major; SCHUMANN Piano Trio in F Major, Op. 80; PULKKIS Fern Flowers, 1st mvt; MENDELSSOHN Piano Trio in d minor, Op. 66;  Follow Highway 89 on twitter: @byuh89 and on instagram: @byuh89
