For a whole month every year, the United States takes the opportunity to celebrate the Asian and Pacific Island heritage which has built our country and our world. There is so much we have to be grateful for that wouldn’t be possible in this country and in the whole world without the great people from Asia and the islands in the pacific, so today we’re going to honor some storytellers – and their stories – from those regions. We’ll hear from Charlie Chin, the great Chinese American storyteller; Motoko, a native of Osaka, Japan; the great Kathy Collins, also of Japanese heritage, and steeped in Hawaiian culture and stories. On today’s episode, enjoy the following: Story Kickoff: “Kahn Family Lessons” - PART 1 by Charlie Chin Story Spotlight: “Water of Life” by Motoko Storytime:  • “Issunboshi” by Kathy Collins • “Kahn Family Lessons PART 2” by Charlie Chin
