Housing Scams

One in ten American households is currently behind on rent or mortgage payments. Luckily, there’s been a federal moratorium on evictions and foreclosures during the pandemic–but that’s going to expire at the end of March. Since this is a prime moment for scammers to target anxious renters and homeowners, the nonprofit housing agency NeighborWorks America has a new public initiative to help people steer clear of scammers.
