Why was the US withdrawal from Afghanistan so chaotic? US officials have said that the Taliban took control of the country much faster than they expected, and the Biden Administration had promised to remove all US troops from the country by the end of August. So there was a rush, but why did all those people crushing the gates of the Kabul airport need to leave before then? Is Afghanistan now just completely closed off to anyone trying to come in or out?
