Guest: Ken Farley, Ph.D., Professor of Geochemistry at CalTech “The Martian” is a great movie that includes a lot of real science, but to set the record straight – astronauts have not yet been to Mars. NASA’s working on it, though. The Mars 2020 Mission’s current focus is to pick the best landing spot for a rover that will visit the Red Planet in 2020 and gather critical information for astronauts to use when it’s their turn to go.
