Going to the zoo is one of the most magical things you can do as a kid—it’s like seeing all your bedtime stories come to life before your eyes. Rudyard Kipling’s Shere Khan (the tiger from The Junglebook), the bears from Goldilocks, and Curious George all in one place. However, not all zoos are created equal and as we age the glamour of zoos begins to wear thin. We start to wonder about the treatment of the animals and the conditions of their containment. We ask ourselves, how ethical are zoos really? Here to answer these questions and to talk with us about the laws regulating zoos is Dr. Liz Tyson, Programs Director of Born Free USA and author of "Licensing Laws and Animal Welfare: The Legal Protection of Wild Animals".
