Named for the street of their very first rehearsal space, the Fry Street Quartet is a nationally-acclaimed string quartet founded in Chicago and based in Hickory, North Carolina. Winners of the Millennium Grand Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, they’ve performed in Carnegie Hall and internationally in places as far away as Sarajevo and Jerusalem. Hailed as "a triumph of ensemble playing" (New York Times), Fry Street Quartet has perfected a "blend of technical precision and scorching spontaneity" (Strad).  On this episode, they perform for us and talk with host Marcus Smith about instruments, international yoga classes, and adventures in world travel.  Performers: William Fedkenheauer, Rebecca McFaul, Bradley Ottesen, and Anne Francis.  Repetoire: HAYDN String Quartet, Op. 17, No. 6; BEETHOVEN String Quartet Op. 18, No. 3; SHOSTAKOVICH String Quartet No. 7;  Follow Highway 89 on twitter @byuH89
