Dougherty is an Assistant Professor of Education Policy and Leadership at the Neag School of Education and an affiliated faculty member in the Department of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut. He holds a doctoral degree in quantitative policy analysis from Harvard University. Recently we have seen reports in the news claiming that college graduates don’t have as many benefits as they used to. Some reports have gone so far as to say that a college education is not of any value at all! With college tuition climbing many students are beginning to get discouraged from continuing their education after high school. But should those students stick with it?
