New research shows that children with early reading skills are more likely to have higher intelligence levels as young adults. Researchers at the University of Edinburgh and King’s College London tested and tracked nearly 2,000 pairs of identical twins, paying attention to experiences that the twins did not share. Some of those differences were the influence of effective teachers, and groups of friends that encouraged reading. The study showed that early differences in reading were linked to later differences in a range of skills, including verbal intelligence and reasoning. On this episode of the Kim Power Stilson Show, we’re going to talk about the importance of reading for young people, and in the 2nd half hour, we’ll talk about “weight loss joy.”
