Gerald Elias was Associate Concertmaster of Utah Symphony for 23 years, and before that he played violin with the Boston Symphony who he still plays with every summer at Tanglewood. When Mr. Elias retired from the Utah Symphony though, it was to write. Specifically, to write bestselling murder-mystery novels set in the world of Classical music! Each of tonight's selections that he plays are titles and inspirations for each of the books in the series. Also with us is pianist Heather Conner. She's on faculty at the University of Utah and is the accompanist for the first two selections. Elias chats with host Steven Kapp Perry all about his novels, characters, inspirations, and some of the interesting challenges that come when you attempt to put music into the written word.
